Job Description

The Senior Solutions Engineer reports to the Vice President, Sales Engineering. As a sales liaison, the SSE will be engaged throughout the sales process, during deployment and roll-out, and will focus on experiential retail customer engagement technology.

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of a broad range of hardware, software, and complementary applications as well as keen sales acumen. The role is equal parts sales and engineering, and requires extensive travel and the ability to confidently present to clients and prospects at all levels. The Senior Solutions Engineer will work collaboratively with Sales Executives and the VP, Retail Practice Leader to concept and fully scope complex customer engagement solutions using RMG’s technology offerings as well as third party offerings.

This role interfaces heavily with Project Management, Professional Services, Creative Design, and Development to accurately communicate the customer’s interests to each team.

Key Responsibilities

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • This senior level role requires the ability to communicate a working technical knowledge of third party applications and associated API’s that may round out RMG Network’s offerings allowing the sales team to present and deliver complete solution sets.
  • The SSE will also be responsible for architecting the total solution in conjunction with the RMG internal production teams.
  • A baseline knowledge of coding languages such as HTML, JavaScript and Python and operating systems such as Chrome, Android, and Windows as well as knowledge of triggers, beacons, mobile and screen technology, cabling, video output characteristics (ie: resolutions) and networking is required.
  • The SSE will be expected to learn RMG’s hardware and software offerings in depth and proactively look for and understand other offerings outside RMG that can enhance the overall deliverable.
  • The role calls for articulation of capabilities not execution, which is done by the internal production teams.

PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • A confidant, polished and collaborative manner is a key requirement of the position.
  • While the Sales Executive and/or VP, Retail Practice Lead will have ownership of the account and ultimately closing the business, the SSE will be equally involved with the project and with the prospect contacts.
  • Independent follow up and proactive prospect calls will be necessary to gain the trust of the prospect and to build confidence in RMG’s ability to execute the project.
